Carolyn Lee Provine Henry, 85, died peacefully at Sunrise Senior Living in Marietta, Georgia, on April 2 2020. Ms. Henry was born March 14, 1935, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Robert Ellis Provine and Mildred Lee Provine. She graduated from Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Mississippi, attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO, and received her degree from the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and chosen as a Campus Beauty. She made her debut with the Delta Debutante Association and was chosen as Greenwood Junior Auxiliary’s first Cotton Ball Queen. She was a successful real estate broker throughout her career and loved to travel around the world.
Ms. Henry was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mildred Provine Bailey. She is survived by her son, Burton Ethridge Henry, Jr., of Oaxaca, Mexico; one sister, Sally Jane Muirhead (Tommy) of Greenwood; one brother, Bob Provine, Jr (Paula), also of Greenwood, and one granddaughter, Javmin Henry, of Quebec, Canada. She is also survived by a number of cousins, nieces and nephews and was especially close to her cousin, Eric Lee, and his wife, Barbara, in her last years.
A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Provine cemetery, with Rev. Peter Gray officiating.
Memorial may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
