Carolyn Tingle Campbell, 85, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Holmes County Long Term Care Center in Durant. Funeral services are 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 7, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Teoc with Rev. Lanny Haley and Rev. Patrick Collins officiating. Visitation is from 1:30–3:00 P.M. at the church.
Carolyn had been a lifelong resident of Carroll County and was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She treasured her family deeply. From her favorite chair, she loved watching the birds gather at the feeder outside. She would spend hours in her garden, tending each flower with care and sharing her love of growing things with friends, neighbors, and her community. After cooking a family meal, she delighted in gathering everyone around the table for games, laughter, and glasses of sweet tea. She dearly loved her dog, Toby, whose loyal companionship was always by her side. In everything she did, her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit brought people together and will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Maggie Moreland Tingle, and a sister, Betty Tingle Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Lester Warren Campbell; a daughter, Amy McCrory (Martin) of Sallis; two grandchildren, Patrick Gowan (Lydia) of Conway, AR, and Anna Gowan Bell (Jacob) of Sallis; and a great-grandchild, Mason Gowan of Conway, AR.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Bennett, Jonathan Bennett, Bryan Thomas Bennett, Patrick Gowan, Jacob Bell, Martin McCrory, and Wayne Clunan. Bobby Bennett will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mississippi Chapter, in Carolyn’s memory.
