Brenda Strain Wiggins

Brenda Strain Wiggins, 84, passed away on July 20, 2026, with her family at her side when she took her last breath on this Earth and her first breath in Heaven. A visitation only will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Delta Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Brenda was a dedicated nurse for over 50 years. She was a fabulous cook who won many cooking contests and the hearts of family and friends. She loved shopping from QVC; fashion and gadgets were her niche. Despite always having a clean house, she despised mops and vacuums. She was a mom with quick wit and words of advice but would also lovingly allow for you to make mistakes and fail. She was noted for saying, “No job is perfect. Always a few flaws!! We are not perfect either – always a few flaws!!”

Battling dementia for over five years wasn’t easy or graceful, but Brenda took it on with her grace and style as best she could. She always had a smile on her face throughout this journey. Her kindness was always there. Even on her worst days, she could be heard whispering the words “thank you”. She was known to sing EVERY WORD to traditional church hymns during worship time. Dementia didn’t take that. HALLELUJAH!

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff, CNAs/Aides, nurses, custodians, therapists, physicians and administration at The Arbor (The Orchard) in Ridgeland, MS and Accent Care Hospice. Thank you for understanding this horrible disease. Words simply cannot express our gratitude for your kindness, patience and love shown to Brenda and to us.

Brenda is survived by “her boys”; Dr. Scott Kolle (Shelia) of Brandon, MS and Shane Kolle (Bianca) of Tumwater, WA; granddaughter Darby McKenzie (Dr. Johnathan) of College Station, TX; three beautiful great grandchildren who will always cherish their Gran Gran; sisters Dean Taylor of Olive Branch, MS, Myra Coleman of Itta Bena, MS, Carol Land (Sandy) of Flowood, MS and many loving nieces and nephews; a loving brother-in-law, Carl (Paula) Wiggins of Carrollton. She is preceded in death by her husband Buddy Wiggins.
