Brenda Joyce Carpenter

Brenda Joyce Carpenter passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2025, after a brief but inspirational battle with cancer.  Funeral services are 11 A.M. Friday, October10 at the North Park Church of God.  Visitation is from 5:30-7:30 Thursday at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home and also 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

She was born to James and Shirley Carpenter on November 22, 1958 in Greenwood, MS. After graduating from Pillow Academy, Brenda immediately went to work at USF&G in a clerical position. In 1999 she accepted a position as a DCM secretary with Farm Bureau and recently retired from there in 2023.

She was a woman of deep faith who loved Jesus and cherished sharing Her love and faith with her family and friends. She was a faithful member of North Park Church and served on the praise team and taught the children’s Sunday School class for many years. It was nothing to see her go out after church to her car and open her trunk full of toys for all the kids to come and pick their favorite one. Brenda will always be remembered for her faith, generosity, strength, and the joy she brought to all those who knew her.

Brenda cherished holiday gatherings with her family, loved shopping, and enjoyed watching football. She was like a sister to many of her friends and cousins. Brenda had a unique way of making each of her friends and family feel like they were special. She loved her niece and nephew as her own and cherished her moments with them.

Her favorite song the last couple of months has been “Come Jesus Come”. She fought the battle of sickness with such great faith believing for her miracle every day. She has received her miracle and is now healed and in the arms of Jesus, her Savior.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Carpenter. She is survived by her father, James Carpenter, her brother, Scott (Patty) Carpenter, one niece, Sara (John) Eason, one nephew , John Patrick (Rachael) Carpenter and a great niece, and great nephew. She also leaves behind many friends and family who will miss her greatly.
