Bonnie Joe Taylor DeLoach, 82, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Bonnie was born and raised in Carroll County and had been a long-term resident of Greenwood. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for Greenwood Leflore Hospital before retiring in 2016 and was also an activities director at Golden Age for several years. She was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church, Greenwood, where she served as the church hostess for many years.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Press and Vivian Ferguson Taylor, and a daughter, Mel DeLoach Wilson. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Carl DeLoach; a son, Travis “Bubba” DeLoach (Kim) of Greenwood; a daughter, Carla DeLoach of Greenwood; a sister, Rose Avene Carson of Madison; five grandchildren, Taylor Kane (Jarrod) of Brandon, Hardin DeLoach of Carrollton, Barrett Johnson (Claire) of Indianola, Sarah Johnson of Greenwood, Madison DeLoach (Mary Katherine) of Itta Bena; four great-grandchildren, Vivi Claire and Wes Kane of Brandon, and Nora Kate and Graham Johnson of Indianola; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be Tuesday, April 14th from 5-7 p.m. at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home and Wednesday, April 15th at 9 a.m. preceding the Funeral services at 10 a.m. held at First Baptist Church. Rev. Collin Montgomery will be officiating. Bonnie will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church cemetery in the Jefferson community of Carroll County.
Pallbearers will be Hardin DeLoach, Barrett Johnson, Madison DeLoach, Jarrod Kane, Robbie Wilson, and Dr. Jeff Harden.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, First Baptist Church of Greenwood, or the charity of donor’s choice.
