John Robert “Bob”, Bunch III, 84, passed away March 28, 2023, at his home with family in Greenwood. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Scott Wright officiating. Visitation is from 9-11 A.M. prior to the service.
Bob was born to John Robert and Carrie Williams Bunch in Greenwood, graduated from Greenwood High School and received his BS Degree in Engineering from Mississippi State University where he proudly played trombone in the “Famous Maroon Band.” He lived in Kentucky, Senatobia and Winona prior to returning to Greenwood and joined his father in the family business, Bunch Concrete. Later the business would be renamed Bunch Concrete and Engineering which Bob operated until his retirement in 2019.
Mr. Bunch had been a faithful member of St. John’s United Methodist Church since 1966. He sang in the Church Choir and was a Trustee for many years. Music was his passion, he continued to play his trombone for the Greenwood Community Band and the MSU Alumni Band. He was also a longtime member of the Greenwood Kiwanis Club.
Bob is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Nell Croft Bunch; two daughters, Candice Leigh Bunch Bassett (Herb) of Grayson, LA, Sara Beth Bunch Bryant (Lance) of Jonesboro, AR; a son, Michael Lawrence Bunch (Tracy) of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Carolyn Ross of Maysville, GA and five grandchildren, Meaghan E. Miller of Indianapolis, IN, Kate Bunch and Christopher Bunch of Atlanta GA, Noah Bryant and Andrew Bryant of Jonesboro, AR.
