Ralph Bardin Redditt was born in the Mississippi Delta on January 20, 1936 to Vivian Bardin and Ralph Redditt. He spent his childhood years in Greenwood and on the family’s Valley Farm in Carroll County. He graduated from Greenwood High School and Mississippi State College where he served as President of Sigma Chi Fraternity and was the Lt Commander of the school’s ROTC. Upon graduation he married Patricia O’Neal, and they soon departed for deployment with the US Air Force in France where their first child, Lisa, was born in 1959. After two years in Europe they returned to farm in the Delta and had two sons, Bart and Charlie.
In 1982 Bardin began a beautiful 43 year marriage to his beloved Nina. They shared a zest for life with friends, work and family. Bardin served as a Director of the Federal Land Bank, the President of the National Catfish Farmers of America and the Director of the Greenwood-Leflore Airport. He was a member of First Families of Mississippi, the Rotary Club of Greenwood and St John’s United Methodist Church. He had a passion for life which manifested in many ways including his love of flying, scuba diving, duck hunting, travel, reading and American and family history. He loved to create be it iron works or building an airplane with his son and grandson.
Bardin passed from this world into eternity on December 22, 2025.He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Patricia O’Neal Redditt, sister, Vivian “Sis” Hemphill, his brother, William Joseph “Joe” Redditt and leaves behind his brother, Richard Perry” Ricky” Redditt, his wife, Nina Redditt, Sister in Law, Gay Allen Redditt (Joe) daughter, Lisa (Lee) Paris of Oxford, sons, Ralph Bardin Redditt, Jr of Monroe, Louisiana and Charles O’Neal Redditt (Carla) of Conway, Arkansas, as well as his step daughter, Frankie (Charlie) Banks, and step-sons, Jeffrey (Kelly) and Jay (Tanna) Drummonds and beloved grandchildren, Rachel Marie Pritchett, Henry Paris, Vivian Martin, Robert Bardin Redditt, Francesca O’Neal Redditt, Vincenzo Albera Redditt, beloved step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren all of whom cherish the memories of their Bar-Bar.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 on January 3, 2026 at the Greenwood-Delta Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to be held following at 2:00. In lieu of flowers Memorials made be made to The Nature Conservancy (4245 N Fairfax Dr Ste 100.Arlington, VA 22203) or The Greenwood Mentoring Group 200 Ave G, (Greenwood, MS 38930) or the charity of your choice.
Pall Bearers will be, Charles Nathan Banks, Edward "Ted" P. Connell Jr, Raines Hemphill, Luke Michael Martin, Henry Paris II, William "Billy" Anderson Pritchett, Richard Perry Redditt Jr, Robert Bardin Redditt, William "Will" Joseph Redditt Jr, and Vincenzo "Enzo" Albera Redditt.
