Annie Miller Obituary

Annie Aline Holly Miller, 89, passed away Friday evening April 17, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  A private family service will be held Monday, April 20 at Miller Memorial Cemetery.

Annie was born on April 22, 1930 in Blackhawk, MS to William Russell Holly and Martha Ann Holly.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She loved all of her nieces and nephews and had many friends who also called her Granny, and loved her like family.  She worked at Kornfeld’s Department Store in her early years and then worked for Baldwin Piano Company for many years before her retirement.  She loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed cooking for all of her family and friends.  No one ever left Granny’s house hungry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 72 years, Leslie D. Miller, two sisters;  Mary Carroll and Katherleen Ellis, two half- brothers; Whit Holly and Lynwood “Bully” Holly, a half- sister; Ora Bruce and one grandson; Michael Glenn Miller.

Annie is survived by two sons; Glenn Miller of Sidon, Leslie Miller (Deb) of Thaxton, one daughter; Debbie Waterer (Chip) of Tupelo, eight grandchildren; Thad Miller (Lindsay) of Blackhawk, Todd Miller (Rebecca) of Tupelo, Rusty Waterer (Candace) of Tupelo, Reagan Bryant (Noah) of Hattiesburg, Christen Smith of Ozark, MO, Hunter Miller (Summeranne) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Dean Miller of Vance, NC, Matt Miller of Hattiesburg, great grandchildren; Wesley ”Bud,” (Ashley), Sara Beth, Bryce, Anny Kate and Mary Todd Miller, Mont, Knox, Laurie and Noel Waterer, Ava and Allie Bryant, Breanna, Brayden and Bradley Smith, John Miller, and one great- great granddaughter; Anna Glenn Carpenter.

The family wishes to express their love and thankfulness for the angels, who cared for her; Tamekia, Gail and Renee.
