Elizabeth Anne Riley, 68, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, at Indywood Glen in Greenwood, MS. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 4 at the Episcopal Church of The Nativity with Fr. Don Chancellor officiating. Visitation is from 10-11 A.M. prior to the service. Private family burial is in Greenwood Cemetery, West Point, MS
Anne was born to Ina and John Hinton on August 6th, 1955, in Alexandria, LA. She moved to MS at an early age, graduated from Clinton High School and Hinds Community College with a degree in fashion merchandising. She met and married the love of her life, Frank Riley, and they moved to Greenwood in 1975. She worked for a short time at the Bayou Belle dress shop and later opened her own shop with some close friends called Bee’s Knees. After her girls were born, she decided to be a full time stay home mom and raise her family.
Anne adored her two daughters and her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her time with them as well as sewing, needlepoint, cooking and adopting cats. She was a great cook but hardly ever followed the same recipe twice.
She made many new friends in Greenwood, and it seemed that everyone she met loved her as well. She was a loving mother and wife and took great care of her family until Alzheimer’s disease changed her life. Although she is in a much better place now, she is missed.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Ina and John Hinton. She is survived by her husband Frank; two daughters, Amanda Redditt (Will) of Greenwood, Rebecca Howard (Noland) of Sidon; sister, Susan Lassiter of Clinton; two brothers, Robert Hinton (Becky) of Utica, John Hinton (Wendy) of Tuscaloosa and four grandchildren, David and Marshall Howard of Sidon and Taylor and Mary Jo Redditt of Greenwood.
The family wishes to offer a special word of thanks to her cargivers at Indywood Glen who made her last years comfortable and kept her smiling and also to Dr. William Jones who was always there when needed.
