Marion Annette “Ann: Porter Ricks, 89, passed away February 27, 2025, at Indywood Glen personal care home in Greenwood. Funeral services are 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 3, 2025, at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Benton. Visitation is from 9:30-11 prior to the service.
Ann was born in Yazoo County to W. L. and Lucille B. Porter. She had been a longtime resident of Greenwood where she was a faithful member of North Greenwood Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, was a member of L.L.L. and the bereavement committee. She was a member of the LeBonte Women’s Club and the Greenwood Garden club. She loved playing bridge and bunko. Her favorite time was spent with family.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, George W. Ricks, her parents, a brother, Will Porter and a sister Adene Addison. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Ricks (Dianna) of Vaiden, MS, Lynn Ricks (Norris) of New Orleans, LA; a brother, Wayne Porter (Virginia) of Pembrook, GA; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Mayhall (Michael) of Tremont, Kendra Myers (Roy) of Gore Springs, Wesley Ricks (Morgan) of Starkville, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her great-grand sons, Chase Chrisman, Jacob Myers, Braxton Myers, Taylor Ricks, Porter Ricks, and Brandon Priest.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
