Dorothy Ann Chandler Kyle, 77, of Minter City, went to be with her Lord on February 1, 2026 with her husband and two daughters by her side.
Mrs. Kyle was born on November 6, 1948 in Ruleville, MS, to Franklin Pierce and Estelle Cox Chandler, and was the second of four children. Ann attended school in Ruleville MS and graduated from Leflore County High School. She was a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church youth group where she met and married the love of her life, Tommy Kyle of Minter City. They were happily married for over 59 years. Ann worked several years for First Federal Bank of Greenwood and then at the Greenwood Public Schools Administrative Office where she was in charge of payroll. Ann and her family later joined Ruleville Baptist Church, attended the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class, and contributed her time to multiple committees within the church.
Ann enjoyed reading, watching old movies and games shows, sewing, and working in her yard. She especially loved attending any activity that focused on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, such as dance recitals, cheer, beauty pageants and any sporting events. Ann and Tommy often traveled to the University of Alabama football games to watch and cheer on their grandson Anthony.
Ann is survived by her husband, Tommy and two daughters, Margaret Kyle Steen (Billy) of Clarksdale and LaDonna Kyle Garrett (Mark) of Madison. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Courtnee Steen Austin (Jason), Anthony Steen (Olivia), Matthew Garrett and Brittney Garrett, and three great grand-children, Tinlee Dunlap, Tatum Dunlap, and Amelia Steen. Ann also leaves sisters, Patsy Weaver (Odell), Lynn Allen (John), and brother, Frankie Chandler (Cathy), brother-in-law David Kyle (Charlene) and sister-in-law Pat Gulledge (Morgan) and her dearest cousin, Jimmy Chandler. She is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Pierce Chandler, and her mother, Estelle Cox Chandler.
Visitation will be 11:00 – 1:00 on Friday February 6, 2026, at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with the funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. The graveside service will be at Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville. The reverend Thomas Anderson will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Anthony Steen, Kris Kyle, Kyle Thach, Bill Gulledge, Evan Allen, and Jimmy Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Garrett, Gary Mims, Billy Walker, and Jeff Crick.
The family wishes to sincerely thank you all for your love, support and prayers during this time. We also wish to thank the staff at Indywood Glen and Vital Caring Home Health and Hospice for their loving care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ruleville Baptist Church or the charity of donor’s choice.
