Andrew L. Sevier, III

Andrew Leonard Sevier, III, 65 passed away suddenly Friday, August 12, 2022 at his home in Greenwood. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Tuesday, August 16 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Phillips officiating.  Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 29.  Visitation is from 9:30-11 prior to the service.

Andrew was born to Andrew and Martha Sevier in Vicksburg, MS and raised in Tallulah, LA.  He attended Gulf Coast Military Academy, Chamberlain Hunt Military Academy, and graduated from Tallulah High School.  He attended Northeast Louisiana University prior to entering the US Marine Corps. He served seven years in the Marines where he was stationed in Okinawa, the Philippines, and later at Camp Pendleton, California as an armored vehicle instructor.  After his service he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Fedric, of Greenwood. Andrew worked for 23 years as a Federal Correctional Officer in Texarkana, TX. His greatest joy was adopting their daughter, Abby, from Vietnam as an infant. While in Texarkana, he enjoyed sharing Civil War history with school groups and participating as a Civil War reenactor.  He retired from the bureau in 2012 with 30 years of federal service. Upon moving back to Greenwood after retirement, Andrew became a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church, 

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Fedric Sevier of Greenwood; a daughter, Abby Sevier of Lena, MS; a sister Susan Hunt of Odessa, TX and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Glen Carpenter, Tyler Thrash, Bill Hammons, Jeff Putvinski, Hal Fiore, Kelley Heath, Wade Baskin, and William Thompson.
