James Roy Garrett

Greenwood, MS:  Mr. Roy Garrett, 88, also known as “The Radio Man” passed away at his home Thursday May 9, 2019.  Funeral services are 11 A.M. Saturday, May 18 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home Chapel (1008 Sgt. John Pittman Drive) with Rev. Randy Clayton and Rev. Perry Irvin officiating.  Visitation is from 10-11 Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of Gunnison, MS, Roy had been a lifelong resident of Greenwood.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.  For 50 years he owned and operated Garrett’s Radio Service. Roy was also a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; James Pinkney Garrett and Crela Grant Garrett, a brother; Howard Lee Garrett and a sister; Marie Garrett Wall

Roy is survived by his wife Shirley White Garrett, two sons; James Tony Garrett of Greenwood, MS and Cam Garrett of Memphis, TN, a brother; Johnny Garrett of Carrollton, MS and two grandchildren; John England Garrett and Drew Williams Garrett both of Germantown, TN.

Memorials may be made to Garden Park Adult Day Center.
