Greenwood, MS: Mrs. Frances LaNell Peeples, 87, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Riverview Nursing Home in Greenwood. Funeral services are 1 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at Malmaison Baptist Church with interment in Bear Creek Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Carpenter and Rev. Dennis McKay will officiate. Visitation is from noon till 1 P.M. Greenwood Delta Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Nell was born April 23, 1931 in Holly Springs, MS to Moses Olun and Maudie Bell Cummings. She was a graduate of Mathiston High School in Mathiston, MS, and a retired employee of Ballkamp. She was a member of Malmaison Baptist Church and a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking Sunday dinner for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Wesley “Buddy” Peeples, Jr., a granddaughter Kelly Michelle Moore, four sisters, one brother and her parents.
She is survived by her son, Keith Peeples (Betty) of Greenwood, two daughters, Karen McKellar (John) of McEwen, TN and Cindy Garner (Cary) of Walker, LA, a brother, Jimmy Cummings (Cornelia) of Eupora, MS, her grandchildren, Deney Peeples (Stephanie) of Villa Rica, GA, Wesley Carpenter of Greenwood, Riann Ragland (Dusty) of Winona, Candy Moore of Watson, LA, Holley Poe (Wayne) of Greenwood, Fran Cook (Brad) of Carrollton and Neil Garner of Walker, LA, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are her grandsons and great grandsons, Deney Peeples, Wesley Carpenter, Neil Garner, Aden Whatley, Jason Peeples, Dylan Peeples, Logan Peeples and J. K. Ruff. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Poe, Brand Cook and her nephews.
Memorials may be made to Garden Park adult day care or the Alzheimer’s Association.
