Barbara Galey McCorkle

Barbara Galey McCorkle, 76, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at her home in Vaiden surrounded by her family.  Funeral services are 11 A.M. Saturday, November 2nd at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis McKay and Rev. Phil McRae officiating.  Interment will be in Vaiden Cemetery.  Visitation is from 9-11 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Barbara was a lifelong resident of Vaiden where she had worked as a Beautician, clerked at Stuckey’s and the 35/55 truck stop and for many years was the receptionist and worked in the gift shop at Florewood River Plantation in Greenwood.  She was a member of the Vaiden Baptist Church, loved to grow vegetables in her garden and raise flowers.

The widow of Marvin T. McCorkle, she is survived by her daughter; Lesa M. Fox (Allen) of Coila, two sons; Robert McCorkle (Pam) and Richard McCorkle both of Vaiden, a sister; Aliene Galey Downs of Coila and three grandsons; Joel Wayne Fox and Allen Stephen Fox both of Coila and Matthew Benjamin McCorkle of Vaiden.

Pallbearers will be Eric Sprayberry, James Downs, Drew Boutwell, Dustin McGehee, Gary McGehee and Eric Taylor.
